Simon Fraser University
I'm a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. My work on sociolinguistics, education, and writing has appeared in the Journal of Second Language Writing, Across the Disciplines, Asian Englishes, Composition Studies,  the Journal of English for Research Publication Purposes, and English Today. I am former co-editor (2010-2015) of the journal Discourse and Writing/Rédactologie, Canada's flagship journal of writing studies, and current vice president and program chair of the Canadian Association for the Study of Discourse and Writing. I'm the author of the forthcoming book Dancing about Architecture is a Reasonable Thing to Do (Cascade Books, 2022 I hope?), about the meaning and purpose of music criticism.
